The 2025 Track and Field season is underway and the members are as follows:
Middle School:
Carson Lavrrar - 6th grade - runner
High School:
Kolby Stafford - 9th grade - discus and shot put
Linna Lichtenegger - 10th grade - javelin
Tristian Hays - 9th grade - runner
Blake Stephens - 9th grade - runner
Eli Reimler Starkey - 10th grade - runner
Carson Lavarr went to his first meet of the season hosted by Fredericktown Middle School on March 24. He is running the 100m and 200m dashes this season. He continues to make improvements in his running!
The high schoolers traveled to Potosi this past Friday, March 28, for their season's first meet.
Tristian ran the 200m dash, and Blake ran the 200m and 400m dashes. Both put up good times for their first meet. Tristian ran last year, and has already dropped 3 seconds off of his 200m time from last year! Blake has continued to improve his running over the past couple of years, and did very well for his first high school meet! Eli is out for a couple of weeks due to a basketball injury. He hopes to be cleared to run in the next week or so.
Linna decided to try out the javelin this year. This is a difficult throwing event, but she has practiced hard every day after school since practice started and is making improvements every week. She produced a good throw for her first meet.
Kolby is picking up where he left off from last year. He now has to throw a bigger, heavier discus since he is in high school. He seems to have adjusted pretty well, as he brought home a 3rd place medal out of 33 HS boys. He was one of only 4 freshman in this group; the rest were 10-12 graders!
All in all, they had a great start to their 2025 season, and we only expect to get better and better as the season continues! Great job to all of you!!
