Middle and High school students from the Southeast region of Missouri, participated in the annual National History Day at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau.
10 middle and high school students from Marquand attended and several presented projects in the competition. 2 students placed on the top three of their respected categories.
This year’s theme was: Debate and Diplomacy in History. Amalia Lichtenegger finished 3rd in the Individual Exhibit category for her project based on the Agricultural Adjustment Act of 1932. Lea Simpson placed 3rd in the Website completion for her project on the Potsdam Conference of 1945.
Students who advance will participate in the Statewide competition at Missouri University in April.
